Udayan is a Sanskrit word meaning 'Eternal Sunrise'. Udayan Care aims to bring sunshine into the lives of underserved sections of society that require intervention. Registered in 1994 as a Public Charitable Trust, Udayan Care works to empower vulnerable children, women and youth, in 23 cities across 14 states of India.
India has more than 31 millions orphaned and abandoned children. Gender discrimination prevents millions of orphaned and abandoned children in India, girls from weaker sections of society do get an equal opportunity to continue their education, and professional skills and attitudes are lacking among disadvantaged communities to become economically self-reliant.
By engaging individuals committed to helping the disadvantaged, Udayan Care is able to provide homes to children in need care and protection, empower girls to aspire and pursue higher education and offer communities digital and vocational training to become self reliant.
